Audience and Revenue Consultant

Reporting to the Consulting Services Director

About the Role

As the Audience and Revenue Consultant at Pugpig you’ll be advising some of the world’s leading media brands on how to increase the size of and engagement with their audiences to drive revenue and the success of their business.

You will be a part of a small team of consultants with expertise in product development, product management, UX, design, insights and more.

You will support client product development with knowledge about how the product will deliver on clients’ audience and revenue goals. With other members of the team, you will develop KPIs for audience and revenue for the product using Pugpig platforms. You’ll help plan the delivery of projects with other members of the consulting services team and our professional services team. After launching MVPs, you will provide ongoing product management support to support client product iteration focused on audience development tools, SEO and ASO strategies and revenue optimisation consulting relating to subscriptions, membership and advertising.

You will work in collaboration with our new business, customer success, professional services and product teams, helping sell business, delivering consulting services and helping deliver thought leadership content.

You will also be a vocal, inspiring thought leader, who has opinions about the future of publishing and how to drive audience growth and engagement that will contribute to the survival and success of the publishing industry. As part of the consulting services team, you will work with our marketing team to develop white papers, insight, market analysis and other content that will reinforce the Pugpig brand as an industry leader in delivering digital publishing products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help clients grow their audiences with a focus on members and subscriber and other revenue strategies including advertising, e-commerce, affiliate marketing and subscription bundles
  • Work with publishers to develop KPIs relating to audience and revenue growth
  • Work with publishers to optimise their subscription systems including Piano, CDS and Zephyr
  • Work with the PS team to develop prototypes and contribute to the scoping and planning of launch MVPs for handover to our PS team for delivery
  • After launch, work with the rest of the team to refine and develop the product with a specific focus on audience and revenue growth
  • Sell and deliver consulting work to publishers
  • Publish industry thought leadership across a spectrum of topics
  • Work with the product team to help prioritise delivery of new product features that will meet the industry’s needs relating to audience and revenue growth
  • Advise our customers on how best to implement our technology to meet their specific needs

About you:

  • You have deep experience of audience development and revenue strategies in the publishing industry – either from an agency or publisher perspective
  • You have strategy and operational experience with subscription and advertising systems used in the publishing industry
  • You have experience working with editorial, commercial and technical stakeholders on audience and revenue strategies
  • You love speaking to customers and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have opinions about the industry and you’re willing to share them in public
  • You’re happy working in a busy, buzzy environment and are adept at juggling multiple priorities at a time
  • You’re tech savvy and have a genuine interest in software and products
