Product Insight Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Product

Based in our London office

About the Role

The Product Insight Specialist has ownership over the entire product reporting capabilities, working closely with the product and engineering teams to maintain best-in-class reporting capabilities, and using the insights gleaned thus to help shape changes across our suite of products.

In this role, you’ll help define everything we track and how this information is used. The priorities being two-fold: firstly to give our customers the information they need to develop a crystal-clear understanding of how their properties are performing and identify opportunities to improve said performance, and secondly to use this information to inform product change, ensuring our decisions are effectively data-driven.

Additionally, you’ll be the go-to person internally for knowledge on what we track and how to find it. Everybody at Pugpig should know how to leverage the insights we have, and you’ll work with the depth and breadth of the business to encourage and guide this. This includes ensuring our Knowledge Base has the documentation we need, both internal and external.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help define success metrics for features and changes, and assess their impact post-rollout
  • Own the analytics suite, understand its capabilities and suggest improvements to what and how we measure
  • Be the point-person on understanding all of our productised analytics services
  • Using our aggregated usage data, identify opportunities and pain points in the product
  • Ensure our analytics specification is up to date and effective
  • Be the internal champion of analytics, helping to drive understanding and usage within the business
  • Produce documentation that helps customers understand how to use their data
  • Find new ways to surface data and insights to our customers, helping them drive their decision-making
  • Assist with challenging analytics-focused support requests from our customers
  • Assist the customer success or sales teams in high-impact situations

About you:

  • You have deep experience of working with digital products in the publishing industry – either from an agency or publisher perspective
  • You have an analytical mind and enjoy not just solving problems, but finding them
  • You’re methodical and thorough
  • You have a deep knowledge of Google Analytics, and have dabbled in other reporting software
  • You have excellent written skills, and feel comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders of varying levels of knowledge
  • You’re tech savvy and have a genuine interest in software and products
