The Baltimore Banner is first to launch our new Follow feature, putting personalisation into practice

Follow is here. The Baltimore Banner is the first publisher to launch our powerful personalisation feature.

The Baltimore Banner is the first publisher to go live with our brand new Follow feature – giving readers the power to personalise their experience by following the topics, authors, and sections they care about most. This enables them to create their own curated news feed that sits alongside editorially-curated content.

Personalisation – driven by both audience choices and AI – has emerged as publishers’ top priority, as highlighted in our 2025 Media App Report. For news publishers such as The Banner, features like Follow make it easier to target audiences with relevant content, significantly boosting reader engagement.

With user personalisation at the core of their digital strategy, The Banner team were quick to adopt the feature, which is accessible via the new ‘For You’ tab and available exclusively to subscribers.

What’s included in Follow 1.0?

This is just the beginning for Follow, we’re gathering feedback and already planning what’s next. Priorities include tighter onboarding, notification preferences, follow from articles and search, shared following between Bolt and your website, and deeper passive personalisation.

Follow is now available to all Pugpig publishers, and we’re expecting to see many more adopting it in the coming weeks and months. If you’re interested in how it could power personalisation for your readers, get in touch with your Customer Success Manager to explore further.
