Good Housekeeping Kitchen recipe app launches on Pugpig Bolt

The Good Housekeeping Kitchen app is the new home for swipeable inspiration, clever search and curated recipe collections on mobile.

GH Kitchen app

Good Housekeeping UK has launched Good Housekeeping Kitchen on Pugpig Bolt, a new home for recipes designed to make everyday meal decisions simpler. The app experience starts in the ‘Inspire me’ section, a swipe-to-discover flow inspired by popular dating apps that lets users save favourites and keep moving.

By pairing Good Housekeeping’s trusted recipes with an interface built to invite exploration, the app takes GH’s expertise within food to a wider audience, including a new generation of home cooks.

And the app is free to use, making it easier for Good Housekeeping UK to attract new users and grow engagement.

App highlights

In ‘Inspire me’, users swipe right on recipes they fancy and left on those they don’t. Swiped recipes are saved instantly, and can be organised into custom folders like “Weeknight Dinners”, “Vegetarian Favourites” or “Brunch Ideas”

Good Housekeeping Kitchen Inspire Me Swiping Feature

Powered by the Pugpig Search API, results are grouped by cuisine, occasion and ingredient, with editorial sets such as “what the GHK team are cooking” and seasonal collections to surface timely ideas.

A cook-along mode supports step-by-step cooking. At launch, users can browse guest collections from Jamie Oliver and Mary Berry, alongside the latest recipes from the Good Housekeeping test kitchen.

“Recipes have long been one of the first ways that people discover Good Housekeeping, so we’re thrilled to launch this new, free app and share our iconic triple-tested recipes with a new generation of home cooks.”

– Liz Settle, MD of Good Housekeeping / Good Housekeeping Institute

Built together

This app came to life through a close collaboration between Good Housekeeping, product agency Fueled and the Pugpig team. Pugpig powers the app experience, while Fueled partnered with Good Housekeeping on the design and key in-app experiences using Pugpig technology.

The result is a clean, modern experience that reflects Good Housekeeping’s editorial voice while giving users something playful and practical to use every day.

“Good Housekeeping Kitchen shows how a recipe app can move past just content and deliver genuine value, exactly the kind of user experience Hearst is leaning into. It’s been a fantastic collaboration with Good Housekeeping and Fueled, and we’re excited to support the next phase as the app builds habit, personalisation and optional paid value.”
