Reader demand played a big role in the decision to launch the app. As more readers engaged with Engelsberg Ideas on mobile, it became clear they needed a dedicated, fully-owned space for essays, podcasts and discussions.

Staying true to the feel of the website, readers can enjoy the content they know and love in a mobile app designed to build engagement and daily habit.

Users can tune into the Engelsberg Ideas podcast directly in the app through Bolt’s native audio player, making it easy to fit weekly conversations and video essays into the flow of their day.

In the ‘MyEI’ tab, powered by Bolt’s Follow personalisation function, readers can personalise their app experience by following specific authors and topics to build unique timelines. In the home tab, they can quickly find standout pieces to dive into thanks to the curated Editor’s Picks carousel.
