Diario de Yucatán launches new app on Pugpig Bolt

Diario de Yucatán’s new app is now live on Pugpig Bolt, bringing coverage from the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico and the world to mobile, with personalised feeds, video, puzzles and digital editions.

Diario de Yucatán’s new app is now live on Pugpig Bolt, the latest launch through our partnership with Newspack. Founded in 1925, the Mérida-based daily newspaper has been reporting on the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico and the wider world for more than a century. The new app brings that coverage together in one place on mobile.

Readers can build a personalised timeline in the For You tab with our Follow functionality, choosing the topics and authors they want to keep up with. A separate Saved section lets them keep articles and videos they want to come back to later.

The Latest tab gives readers a quick way into DY’s coverage, with topic feeds that make it easy to move between different areas of the paper.

Video content has a home in the Multimedia section, working alongside written content to give readers more ways to catch up with DY throughout the day. Once they’ve read the latest stories, there’s more to browse and more reason to open the app again later.

Readers looking for something beyond the day’s headlines can head over to Puzzles. There, they’ll find a mix of crosswords and number puzzles, with some available to everyone and others reserved for subscribers.

The Editions tab keeps the full newspaper close at hand, letting readers browse the full archive and download editions for offline reading.
