Golf Digest expands their digital offering with Pugpig Archive

Golf Digest launches a brand new digital archive on Pugpig Archive, adding to their HTML digital editions-based mobile app powered by Pugpig Bolt.

Golf Digest archive launches on Pugpig Archive

The most widely read golf publication in the world, Golf Digest, has launched a brand new digital archive on Pugpig Archive, adding to their HTML editions-based mobile app powered by Pugpig Bolt from 2019.

While Golf Digest previously had an app-based archive on our Bolt platform, the team were looking to build this feature out on Pugpig Archive and offer a more premium experience for readers interested in historical content.

And we have to say, it looks fantastic. The archive features every page of every single edition published (that’s 824 and counting) since the brand was born back in 1950. It’s an incredibly rich resource and an extremely effective tool for Golf Digest to engage their readers in a brand new way.

A tool to engage loyal Golf Digest readers

As well as unlimited access to the complete 73-year collection of editions, the archive also features a broad range of curated collections and spotlight features. These are based on specific topics their readers are particularly drawn to, decided by the Golf Digest editorial team.

Current curated collections are packed with relevant articles from across the entire archive, such as Big Interviews, Historic Moments, Swing Sequences and How to Play Like Tiger. The wealth of content surfaced from years gone by means readers can engage with the content they’re interested in on a much deeper level.

On the same note, the archive’s ‘sections’ feature is another way Golf Digest can engage their readers by making specific topics they’re interested in easily accessible and discoverable. These are automatically curated upon upload from regular magazine sections or features like ‘What’s in my Bag’ or ‘Tips from the Tour’.

User friendly search function to maximise content discoverability

The archive’s fully functional and powerful search makes it extremely easy for readers to find exactly what they’re looking for.

Users can search by issue, year, decade, author, keyword, article name, section or collection to name a few, and the Golf Digest team put a lot of effort into ensuring the search is as effective as it can be.

This work included tagging authors, contributors, sections and more across every edition in order to ensure the best experience for their customers from the get go.
