46 apps. 3 archives. 1 platform: The Condé Nast & Pugpig story
The biggest name in consumer magazines moved every title across the UK, USA, Spain, France, Germany and Taiwan to Pugpig and significantly improved their digital edition portfolio.
Condé Nast is home to some of the world’s most influential media brands, from GQ to The New Yorker. Founded in 1909, it has today become a benchmark of publishing quality and has a global footprint of more than 1 billion consumers across print, digital and social.
The main objectives
Migrate the entire Condé Nast portfolio for the US, Germany, France, Spain and Taiwan on a tight deadline.
Find a solution to work with five different ways of creating content across the titles and countries.
Reduce the editorial effort of creating titles like The New Yorker, GQ and Vogue while maintaining the super high production values they’re famous for.
Ensure Condé Nast could benefit from Pugpig services in any territory without going through local legal and procurement processes via a global deal.
What we did
Worked with Condé Nast’s multiple editorial workflows
From ready-made pages from Adobe CQ to a JSON feed straight into our CMS and pulling PDFs into XML files, we integrated with Condé Nast’s various workflows to make sure they spent the least effort getting the best possible results.
A mixture of custom built and out-of-the-box modules
Alongside the Condé Nast team, we built and designed a range of custom modules to easily facilitate and manage their existing processes. For other cases, we simply plugged into our off the shelf services for the ultimate efficiency.
Help growing their subscription business around the world
Moving forward, we’re working with Condé Nast in the US, UK and beyond on a range of mobile app and website projects to help grow their subscriptions across the globe. There are lots of exciting things coming up – watch this space!
The results
Migrated all Condé Nast titles in just a few months
Against a ticking time bomb and under a global deal with Advance Publications, we got all titles up and running before their existing service was withdrawn. This avoided any disruption and significantly improved the quality of their digital edition portfolio.
Extremely smooth automations with their existing services
One of Condé Nast’s apps, The New Yorker, runs on a completely automated editorial process, seamlessly integrated with their existing New Yorker Today app. All other US titles flow straight from the existing processes previously set up with Adobe.
46 apps and 3 websites across leading markets – all powered by Pugpig
That’s Condé Nast’s entire portfolio of titles across some of their leading markets from the US to Spain, France and Russia. Titles across both Bolt and Site products include GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and Glamour – all powered by Pugpig.
“I have complete confidence in Pugpig’s ability to deliver.”
I have complete confidence in Pugpig’s ability to deliver – there is no project too small or too big! I love their experimental nature, can do attitude, and just having them around as a sounding board. We have accomplished a huge amount for our customers with their help.
